You can use it to place a ceiling cap (when a hanging lamp on a cord) nicely and tightly against the ceiling.
1. Place the strain relief under the ceiling cap.
2. Push the ceiling cap tightly against the ceiling.
3. Slightly tighten the plastic screw on the wire.
Of course there are also other applications; such as placing the strain relief on top of a fitting.
Then you need a small piece of M10x1 threaded end .
