Beautiful Art-Deco hanging lamp made in France and signed by Pierre Maynadier. The frame of this lamp is made of nickel-plated bronze and is silver-coloured. The lampshades are made of frosted glass.
Pierre Maynadier designed and produced beautiful Art Deco lamps in France in the 1930s. Some lampshades produced exclusively for Maynadier are signed P. Maynadier. Similarly in the case of this lamp, see photos.
The signed lampshades are made of pressed glass.
Pressed glass is glass that has not been blown, but produced using a mold. Liquid glass was melted in these molds and then pressed together. The advantage of this was that the relief and motifs did not have to be cut later, but were immediately in the glass. In this way, several exactly the same lampshades could be made.
