Adapter from bayonet fitting to M10 thread.
We often repair a lamp ourselves.
Then we regularly come across a French or English lamp that still contains a bayonet mount lamp holder.
We usually replace these with E14 or E27 fittings.
Replacing it is often a time-consuming and difficult job, because the thread in question never fits the M10 thread.
Not anymore, since we have had a special adapter made.
1. Remove the bayonet mount; just leave the thread on the bottom.
2. Twist the wide part of the adapter over this thread.
3. Attach an E14 (or E27, whichever you prefer) lamp holder to the M10 thread.
4. Ready!
So no more fiddling with penetrating oil because that piece of bayonet screw thread is stuck and does not want to come loose.
No more drilling out in places where you have bad access.
The inner thread has 3 turns.
The male thread piece has 5 turns.
All in all nicely compact, so that the new lamp holder will be almost in the same position than the former bayonet mounted one was.
Photo 4 and 5 show an (copper colored as example)E14 fitting with the reducer.
In these photos we have not tightened the reducer tightly against the top of the fitting.
To do this is of course very easy.
We also have this reducing nipple in brass.
